DIY Home Energy Savings Presentation @ Thousand Oaks Grant Brimhall Library

August 9, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

REGISTER via Eventbrite

Do you know how much energy your home uses? Whether the energy is being used efficiently or going to waste? Want to learn how saving energy can affect you, your home, and our climate?

3C-REN (Tri-County Regional Energy Network) and VCREA (Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance) have partnered with Thousand Oaks libraries to bring you the Home Energy Savings DIY Toolkit! This presentation will cover the tools and equipment in the kit, and review the simple do-it-yourself projects you can complete to help you save energy and increase the comfort of your home.

The kit has FREE items for you to install in your home, as well as tools to conduct your own home-assessment and later return after use. Additionally, the presentation will cover another DIY service that will soon be launching, which allows library patrons to borrow a portable induction cooktop so you can try clean, all-electric cooking yourself.

The presentation will also highlight a new DIY lending program for induction cooktops that is scheduled to launch mid-July. Induction cooktops will be available to rent via local libraries so patrons can test out modern electric cooking for themselves.

Instructor: Javier Saucedo
