The Sustainability Division celebrated Earth Day by tabling at various Earth Day events in April. As part of their Drive Electric Earth Day, staff tabled at Thousand Oaks Arbor Earth Day, Oxnard’s Earth Day Farmers Market at Plaza Park, and City of Fillmore’s Earth Day to talk about VCREA’s programs and offer assistance in purchasing an electric vehicle. Our staff also tabled on our Sustainable VC initiative at Thousand Oaks and Oxnard where staff gave away native plants and tree saplings and educated the public on the importance of conserving tree canopy and providing pollinator habitats. Staff working on 3C-REN tabled at Thousand Oaks and Fillmore to publicize on the “Home Energy Savings” program for residents to save energy and electrify their homes.
Our General Services Agency hosted an Earth Day Tour at the Government Center on Friday, April 21st where Sustainability Division staff talked about the electric vehicles in our County’s motor pool for employees to use for County business.
