Why Energy Consultants Should Learn to do Residential HVAC Design

April 4 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 pm

Register Today!

HVAC contractors are simply not doing proper load calculations for a variety of reasons.  Not the least of which are lack of knowledge and lack of time.  Energy Consultants are the perfect candidates to step in and fill this role, either as a service to HVAC contractors or directly to homeowners and builders.  The information needed for a good load calculation is basically exactly the same as the information needed for an energy model.  Energy Consultants know their way around this type of software and it really should be easy for them to learn.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how energy consultants can easily add load calculations to their services.
  • Understand what codes require residential HVAC design.
  • Understand what ACCA is and why their design manuals are so important.
  • Understand the importance and benefits of good HVAC design.
  • Understand the basic steps in the design process and take the mystery out of HVAC design.
  • Be introduced to new HVAC design software.

Instructor: Russ King, Coded Energy Inc.
