Sustainability Division and VCREA staff at City of Fillmore Earth Day Event

Sustainability Division Attends 2024 Earth and Arbor Day Events

In April 2024, Sustainability Division staff joined various City and nonprofit events to celebrate Earth and Arbor Day.

County of Ventura Sustainability Division, VCREA, and 3C-REN staff attended the MERITO Foundation Earth Day event at Plaza Park in Ventura, the City of Thousand Oaks Arbor Earth Day in Thousand Oaks, and City of Fillmore’s Earth Day event at Fillmore’s City Hall.

Staff handed out native plants and tree saplings to attendees to help increase the region’s tree canopy and pollinator gardens. 3C-REN staff raffled off an induction cooktop as part of the Climate Resilient VC campaign to encourage home electrification. VCREA staff handed out materials on electric vehicle rebates and incentives as well as engaging swag.

On Thursday, April 25th, Sustainability Division staff participated in Ventura Tree Alliance’s Arbor Earth Day event at Montalvo park.  Ventura Tree Alliance received a grant from SoCal Edison and California ReLeaf to plant native trees at the park and at a Ventura elementary school playground.
