Sustainable California Libraries – Grant-funded sustainability programs at the Piru, Saticoy, and Soliz libraries

Following the receipt of a Sustainable California Libraries Grant from the California State Library, and in collaboration with the County Executive Office’s Sustainability Division, the Ventura County Library is proud to present a series of sustainability-themed programs at the Piru Library, Saticoy Library, and Soliz Library branches.

During the months of March, April, and May 2023, community members will have access to the Explore, Discover, Connect—Sustainable Living Grant Practices Program. This series of family-friendly presentations covers topics including How to Get Green Business Certified, Home Weatherization and Insulation, and Purchasing an Electric Vehicle. English/Spanish interpretation services and children activities will be available for all presentations in support of VCL’s mission to create accessible programming on diverse topics for all members of our community. Locations and dates for the presentations are:

Piru Library (3811 Center Street, Piru)

  • Monday, April 3, 5pm-7pm – Purchasing an Electric Vehicle 101
  • Thursday, April 6, 5pm-7pm – Home Weatherization 101
  • Thursday, May 11, 5pm-7pm – How to Get Green Business Certified

Saticoy Library (1292 Los Angeles Avenue, Ventura)

  • Monday, March 27, 5pm-7pm – Purchasing an Electric Vehicle 101
  • Thursday, May 4, 5pm-7pm – Home Weatherization 101
  • Thursday, May 18, 5pm-7pm – How to Get Green Business Certified

Soliz Library (2820 Jourdan Street, Oxnard)

  • Wednesday, March 29, 10am-12pm – Purchasing an Electric Vehicle 101
  • Thursday, March 30, 5pm-7pm – Home Weatherization 101
  • Thursday, April 13, 5pm-7pm – How to Get Green Business Certified
